Dr. Angela M. Holley

Angela M. Holley, Ph.D., LPC, CSAC, CCTP, CAMS-I

Dr. Holley is the owner and Program Director of Human Care, LLC, and is a native of Chesapeake, VA. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Virginia State University. She obtained her doctoral degree from Capella University in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior. Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC),  a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) through the International Association of Trauma Professionals, and a Certified Anger Management Specialist-I (CAMS-I) through the National Anger Management Association.

Angela has worked with various populations ranging from children to senior adults. She has worked in various clinical settings including a state hospital, local hospital, group homes, in-home, communities, residential treatment facilities, and a university counseling center.  Angela has extensive experience providing individual, group counseling, couples counseling, training programs, and seminars on various topics. Angela’s area of interest includes working with individuals with serious mental illnesses, women’s issues, trauma, substance abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, and anger education.

Angela utilizes an integrative approach to therapy in that she combines elements of different schools in psychotherapy. The purpose of this technique is to enhance the client’s personal growth and to facilitate wholeness so that the individual’s ability to function is maximized based on that individual’s own personal limits and external constraints. Angela’s approach to counseling is to empower the client so they are able to remain a stable force when faced with adversity.

Anita B. Holley, LCMH-P

Anita is a Licensed Resident Clinical Mental Health Counselor providing a safe space, free of judgment, for you to be heard and understood when navigating through life’s challenges. In collaborating with you, Anita uses an integrative approach to therapy to help you work through depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, grief, relationships, anger, and other disorders. In doing so, she helps you understand the impact thoughts have on feelings and behaviors and in turn help you increase your quality of life and functioning.
 

Anita’s approach to counseling is to empower you mentally and emotionally to effectively manage life's challenges. Anita incorporates psycho-education to teach you about disorders, core beliefs, negative schemas, cognitive bias, and maladaptive behaviors. She teaches coping skills to improve functioning that helps to lessen your experienced symptoms.
 

As a counselor Anita is kind, compassionate, supportive, respectful, and caring. She demonstrates empathy and provides a listening ear while giving voice and space for you to be heard and understood. She believes whatever life brings your way you can get the help you need to become empowered to be the best you, YOU can be!
